Play in a day
Theatre Without Walls can create a play in a day with your school or group. We arrive first thing in the morning with a theme or story chosen by you and then spend the morning writing and devising and rehearsing the content. We can focus on fun or on a topic such as story writing or storyboarding. Then depending on what production style you choose we will either create a short film, an audio play, a puppet show or a staged performance.
One day is good, two or more days is better and allows us to add and refine elements. We can also have a blended approach with a terms worth of small workshops leading up to a day long ‘showbuild’. All versions have their merits.
We can provide a single facilitator, or multiple practitioners with various specialisms including puppet making, music, writing, drama etc.

All ability workshops
We are proud of our work with people who have specific needs. We run autism friendly versions of most of our workshops. We have a number of facilitators with specialist knowledge of particular needs-for example signing Makaton/ Sign assisted / BSL. We have had visual awareness training from RNIB and have worked with Action On Hearing Loss. We can use induction loop systems and pictorial signs etc. Let us know your access needs and we will work with you to provide the best possible experience for everyone taking part.
We deliver workshops for charities like Arts Care, Arts In Motion, Goal line, YMCA, Home Farm Trust and also undertake research based activities- our work with Alzheimer’s gained an NHS commendation and several of our projects with SLG college have received community learning awards.
